The Montreal Canadiens signed forward Michael Chaput to a two-year, two-way contract on Sunday.
Chaput, who hails from Île Bizard, Quebec, spent the past two seasons with the Vancouver Canucks organization, registering four goals and nine points in a combined 77 games over that time. He also tallied 17 goals and 42 points in 55 AHL games with the Utica Comets in 2017-18.
The 26-year-old has appeared in 135 games since making his NHL debut with the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2013-14, registering six goals and 17 points over the course of five seasons.
