The Vancouver Canucks did not extend a qualifying offer to defenceman Derrick Pouliot Monday, meaning he will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
Although he did not receive a qualifying offer, Sportsnet 650’s Rick Dhaliwal reports the Canucks are discussing a one-year deal with Pouliot to potentially bring him back.
Pouliot, 24, scored three goals and added 19 assists for Vancouver in 2017-18.
Vancouver extended qualifying offers to Sven Baertschi, Troy Stecher and Jake Virtanen. Cole Cassels, Anton Cederholm, Griffen Molino and Mackenze Stewart were the others who were not given offers.
