The Vancouver Canucks will add another young player to their lineup Monday when the team faces the Canadiens in Montreal.
Hunter Shinkaruk, the 24th overall pick in the 2013 NHL draft, is expected to make his debut, according to Sportsnet’s Dan Murphy.
Shinkaruk spent four years in the WHL with the Medicine Hat Tigers before moving up to the AHL full time last season with the Utica Comets. In 74 games with the Comets, Shinkaruk scored 16 goals and 31 points.
This season, the 21-year-old winger has 13 points in 12 games for the Comets. Shinkaruk, a Calgary, Alberta native, stands 5-foot-11 an 180 pounds.
