Vancouver Canucks forward Micheal Ferland will be leaving the NHL bubble due to injury, Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman has learned.

No specifics on the nature of his injury have emerged at this time.

Ferland played just four shifts, totaling 2:36 of ice time in the Canucks’ Game 2 win against the Minnesota Wild.

In Game 1 of the series, the forward was fined $5,000 by the NHL for spearing Ryan Hartman on the Wild bench.

The 28-year-old has yet to register a point in the Canucks’ Qualifier Series. In the regular season, he scored one goal and added four assists in 14 games.

The Canucks and Wild are tied 1-1 in their best-of-five series.
