The Vancouver Canucks have signed defenceman Jack Rathbone to a three-year, entry-level deal.
News of the signing was first reported by Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman on Tuesday, and confirmed by the team shortly after.
“Jack is a dynamic player,” Canucks general manager Jim Benning wrote in a press release. “He has the ability to transition the puck from the defensive zone, brings good offensive instincts and plays with an edge to his game. We are pleased to have Jack join our roster.”
Rathbone appeared in 28 games for Harvard University this past season, scoring seven goals and adding 24 assists.
The 21-year-old was originally drafted 95th overall by Vancouver in the 2017 NHL Draft.
