Vancouver Canucks forward Tyler Motte will miss four to six weeks with a shoulder injury, the team announced.

Motte suffered an upper-body injury on a hit from San Jose Sharks defenceman Erik Karlsson last Wednesday night.

The 24-year-old was subsequently placed on injured reserve and did not accompany the team for the rest of their current road trip.

Vancouver previously recalled Zack MacEween from the AHL’s Utica Comets to provide forward depth in Motte’s absence.

Motte has five points in 24 games this season.
