Watch: Capitals’ prospect puts puck through net

Washington Capitals prospect Caleb Herbert’s arrival in the ECHL upon a demotion last week could not have gotten off to a better start.

Not only did Herbert record the first hat trick of his professional career on Saturday night, but he actually hammered a puck through the net on his third goal of the evening.

Herbert’s South Carolina Stingrays topped the Greenville Road Warriors 4-2 on Saturday for their second win of the season.

Herbert played four games with the Hershey Bears of the AHL before landing in the ECHL last week.
