Capitals re-sign centre Travis Boyd to two-year deal

The Washington Capitals have re-signed Travis Boyd to a two-year deal worth $1.6 million.

The 24-year-old suited up in eight games for the Stanley Cup champions last season, recording his first NHL assist against the Philadelphia Flyers on March 18. Boyd also appeared in one playoff game for the Capitals.

The Hopkins, Minn., native has appeared in 215 career AHL games for the Hershey Bears since 2014-15, recording 53 goals and 165 points over that span.
