Capitals re-sign forward Liam O’Brien to one-year deal

The Washington Capitals have re-signed forward Liam O’Brien to a one-year, two-way contract, the team announced on Friday.

O’Brien’s new deal has an average annual value of $650,000.

The 23-year-old played in three games for the Capitals in 2017-18, and has registered two points along with 28 penalty minutes in 17 career games with Washington. The six-foot-one, 215-pound forward recorded 17 goals in 69 games with Hershey in the AHL this past season.

O’Brien signed with Washington as a free agent on Oct. 6, 2014.
