Chara out four to six weeks with knee injury

John Tavares got laid out in open ice by the largest man in hockey, Zdeno Chara, who appeared to expend no effort on the hit.

BOSTON — Boston Bruins captain Zdeno Chara will be out four to six weeks after sustaining a knee injury against the New York Islanders on Thursday night.

Chara had a collision with Islanders captain John Tavares midway through the first period, then played one more shift that ended with 8:04 remaining in the period. On Friday, the Bruins confirmed Chara suffered a PCL tear in his left knee and would miss four to six weeks. Chara does not require surgery at this time.
