The Arizona Coyotes have signed defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph to a three-year, entry-level contract.

Joseph was selected 23rd overall in the 2017 NHL Draft, with the Coyotes using the pick acquired from Minnesota in the deal that sent Martin Hanzal to the Wild last February.

The 18-year-old has three goals and 21 points in 23 games with the QMJHL’s Charlottetown Islanders – in his first year as team captain – this season.
