After 11 straight losses, things have reached a boiling point with the Edmonton Oilers.
“I’m pissed off…and our fans are pissed off,” Oilers general manager Craig MacTavish told reporters at a press conference Friday.
MacTavish added that owner Daryl Katz is “very upset” with the team’s lack of success and admitted players have been verbally and visibly upset in the dressing room of late.
MacTavish reiterated that the team won’t make any knee-jerk moves because they are not in a position to spend future assets for the sake of short-term improvement and that the team isn’t prepared to trade the franchise’s core players.
“What I think I have now is a group that’s capable of growth,” MacTavish said. “What I inherited was a group that was on the demise.”
