Coffee drinkers looking for their fix at a Dartmouth Tim Horton’s were met with quite a surprise on Tuesday when none other than Sidney Crosby and Nathan MacKinnon were lending a hand at the drive-thru window.
The Cole Harbour, Nova Scotia natives were filming a commercial at the Dartmouth franchise, playing Tim Horton’s employees.
Crosby and MacKinnon were all smiles as employees and passersby stopped for photo opportunities.
It’s good to see Crosby can shed a layer of seriousness in the off-season. You may recall MacKinnon’s account of Crosby giving him the cold shoulder during a March meeting between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Colorado Avalanche.
“Sid was my favourite player growing up and we’re buddies, and it’s always fun to play against him,” MacKinnon told the Denver Post. “He’s a little bit more serious than most of the buddies I play against. You usually can talk to your friends, but he’s all business on the ice.”
Crosby wasn’t interested in any on-ice camaraderie when his Penguins took the loss versus MacKinnon and the Avalanche.
“I just said, ‘Hey,’ and he looked at me and ignored me,” MacKinnon said. “He’s pretty serious, but that’s okay. I don’t know if he’s mad at me or what. I’ll have to see.”
