Defenceman Ben Lovejoy signs three-year contract with Devils

Ben Lovejoy was beyond ecstatic on Sunday winning the Stanley Cup and even cut his interview short so to be part of the group photo at centre ice.

Defenceman Ben Lovejoy has signed a three-year, $7.8 million deal with the New Jersey Devils.

He will make $2.66 million against the salary cap.

Lovejoy spent the past season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, scoring 10 points in 66 regular season games, and another six points in 24 playoff games en route to a Stanley Cup champions.

The Penguins acquired Lovejoy at the 2015 NHL trade deadline form the Anaheim Ducks, where he spent parts of three seasons. Prior to his time with the Ducks, Lovejoy spent six seasons in the Penguins’ organization.
