Martin Brodeur reminisces about his Hall of Fame career and the highs and lows he experienced in it.

NEWARK, N.J. – The New Jersey Devils have announced plans to honour Martin Brodeur, the all-star goaltender who led the team to three Stanley Cups.

The Devils said Tuesday that they will retire Brodeur’s No. 30 in a pre-game ceremony on Feb. 9, when New Jersey hosts the Edmonton Oilers. The team also plans to commission a statue of Brodeur to be built outside the Prudential Center.

“I am humbled and honoured to have this opportunity with the organization that drafted me over 20 years ago, and thrilled to share this moment with fans who have become like family,” Brodeur said.

Brodeur was in goal when the Devils claimed Stanley Cup titles in 1995, 2000 and 2003.

The 10-time all-star and four-time Vezina Trophy winner finished his career with St. Louis after a two-decade run with New Jersey. He is currently an assistant general manager with the Blues.

Brodeur holds several NHL records, including most regular-season wins (691), most playoff starts (204) and most playoff shutouts (24).
