Ducks host Star Wars night in hopes the offence awakens

The force awakens at Honda Center as the Anaheim Ducks host a Star Wars night for their fans.

The Anaheim Ducks are hosting Star Wars night Wednesday, presumably because California is as dry as Luke’s home planet Tatooine.

OK, actually, it’s because The Force Awakens is coming out Dec. 18.

First off, the video above showing a Star Wars scroll that explains that Corey Perry and Ryan Getzlaf intend on restoring peace and order to the NHL? (Yeah, and Gonk droids have an impressive vocabulary.)

Getting into the spirit of Force-mas, the Ducks truly went all out, and so did their fans.

This disturbing image is more Spaceballs than Star Wars:

Elsewhere on Star Wars night, the apparent offspring of Ryan Kesler shows the force is strong in his family, especially the part where he takes a major spill with no opponent in sight.

(RIP Darth Hiller, btw)

And finally, check out the detail on this wintry Hoth sweater:

Unfortunately for the Ducks, the force was with the Tampa Bay Lighting, who edged them 2-1.
