It appears at least one member of the San Jose Sharks can be considered a winner.
Sharks defenceman Douglas Murray is dating Tiger Woods’ ex-wife, Elin Nordegren, according a report from Swedish website Expressen.se. Witnesses said the couple was being affectionate at Sweden’s Rose nightclub.
Expressen also reported that pair had dinner in early July with Swedish pro golfer Jesper Parnevik, who set them up. Parnevik, 47, is the same man credited with setting Nordegren up with Woods. The couple divorced in August 2010.
“We are only friends,” the 6’3”, 240-pound defencman told the website. “We are not dating and we have never dated. We have friends in common and we have only known each other for a couple of weeks.”
Murray had no comment when asked if the friendship could evolve into something intimate.
Both Swedish, Murray and Nordegren are 32 years old and single.
In 422 career games, all with San Jose, Murray has six goals, 50 assists and 335 penalty minutes.
