Eric Lindros keeps Nordiques jersey he refused to wear in safe place

Watch as Eric Lindros scores after Justin Bieber can’t find the back of the net on a breakaway.

We recently saw Eric Lindros don a Quebec Nordiques jersey for the first time, more than a quarter century after refusing to put one on when the team selected him in 1991.

It turns out Lindros kept the jersey he refused to wear on draft day in a safe place all these years.

Lindros is auctioning off some of his hockey collectables through Classic Auctions but says he won’t be putting his Nordiques jersey up.

“That’s in a safety deposit box at the TD Bank,” Lindros told Yahoo Sports. “I’m gonna hang on to that.”

The auction is open until March 7. Among the items available to bid on are many of his notable game-worn jerseys, plus game-used sticks, skates, helmets and other paraphernalia.

“I have held on to these items for a while and appreciated them, but it’s time to move on and hopefully others can appreciate them in the same regard,” Lindros added.
