Ex-Canadien Bourque, Therrien didn’t get along

Rene Bourque’s tenure as a Montreal Canadien was nothing short of interesting, and so was his relationship with coach Michel Therrien.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday after being called up on an emergency basis from the Columbus Blue Jackets’ AHL affiliate, Bourque said that he and Therrien didn’t necessarily get along.

Bourque, 33, was acquired by Montreal in a January 2012 trade with the Calgary Flames for Mike Cammalleri. He spent parts of four seasons with the Canadiens before being dealt to the Anaheim Ducks in November. The Blue Jackets then acquired him at the NHL trade deadline on March 2 along with William Karlsson and a 2015 second-round pick for James Wisniewski.

In 43 games this season with both the Habs and Ducks, Bourque has two goals and eight assists to go along with a minus-13 rating.

Columbus hosts the Colorado Avalanche this evening.
