Fan arrested for allegedly throwing octopus on ice at Bruins game

How well do Detroit Red Wing fans travel? Well enough that two octopi ended up on the ice of TD Banknorth Gardens in Boston.

Detroit Red Wings fans should keep their octopi at home when they head on a road trip to see their favourite team.

According to the Boston Globe, a 32-year-old fan was arrested and charged with disturbing a public assembly for allegedly tossing an octopus on the ice during the third period of Thursday’s game between the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins.

An officer on detail at TD Garden said that around 9:31 p.m. he observed the fan “walk down to the front row and throw what appeared to be an eight-legged creature” onto the ice.

The fan was wearing a Red Wings sweatshirt when he was ejected from the game and escorted out of TD Garden.

Boston ended up winning 5-2 over Detroit.
