The Calgary Flames have acquired defenceman Dougie Hamilton from the Boston Bruins in a trade.
The Bruins received a 2015 first-round (15th overall) and two 2015 second-round picks (45th and 52nd overall) in exchange for Hamilton.
Hamilton, 22, is a restricted free agent. The 6-foot-5, 212 lb. defenceman scored 10 goals and totalled 42 points in 72 games last season.

The Flames risk other teams sending an offer sheet Hamilton’s way, but it appears they’re not concerned about getting a deal done with the towering defenceman. They have six days to negotiate a deal before teams can submit an offer sheet to Hamilton.
The Bruins selected Hamilton 9th overall in the 2011 draft. He has 22 goals and 83 points in 178 games over the course of his three seasons in the NHL.
