Calgary Flames forward Austin Czarnik is one of three players placed on waivers Wednesday.

Detroit Red Wings goalie Eric Comrie and Pittsburgh Penguins forward Stefan Noesen were also placed on waivers.

Czarnik, 27, hasn’t played for the Flames since the end of October while recovering from a lower-body injury. He has recently completed a three-game conditioning stint in the AHL and needed to either be activated to the NHL roster or placed on waivers to remain in AHL Stockton. Czarnik had two goals and an assist in eight games before his injury.

Comrie, 24, is on waivers for the second time this season. In October, he was claimed off waivers by the Arizona Coyotes from the Winnipeg Jets. The Coyotes then traded him to the Red Wings at the end of November. In three appearances, two of them starts, with the Red Wings, Comrie allowed nine goals and went 0-2-0.

Noesen, 26, signed an NHL contract with the Penguins on Dec. 2 after beginning the season with the AHL’s Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. He had one goal in six NHL games with the Penguins, and 22 points in 22 games in the AHL.
