Flames bring in Brandon Davidson on one-year, two-way deal

The Calgary Flames have signed defenceman Brandon Davidson to a one-year, two-way contract worth $700,000, the team announced on Monday.

Davidson appeared in 10 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season, registering one assist and 15 penalty minutes.

The Alberta native has played 162 career games over five seasons, recording nine goals and 14 assists with the Edmonton Oilers, Montreal Canadiens, New York Islanders and Blackhawks.

Davidson was a sixth-round pick (162nd overall) of the Oilers in the 2010 NHL Draft.
