Calgary Flames forward Garnet Hathaway won’t face any further discipline for his dangerous hit on Minnesota Wild forward Luke Kunin, Sportsnet’s John Shannon confirmed.
Hathaway drew the ire of the Wild faithful during the two clubs’ meeting on Saturday night, after he appeared to slam Kunin’s head into the boards. The Flames forward was handed a 10-minute match penalty for the incident during the game.
Minnesota went on to win the tilt — which began with a ceremony to honour Jarome Iginla and raise his No. 12 to the rafters — by a score of 4-2.
Hathaway, 27, has suited up for 59 games for the Flames this season, posting 10 points and 43 penalty minutes over that span. He has 31 points and 206 total penalty minutes through 158 career appearances in the big leagues.
