The Calgary Flames have named Don Maloney their vice president of hockey operations, the team announced Thursday.

Maloney had joined the Flames as a scout after a nine-year tenure as general manager of the Arizona Coyotes.

He will continue to report directly to GM Brad Treliving, who served as an assistant to Maloney with the Coyotes before being hired to join Calgary in 2014.

The Flames also re-signed assistant GMs Craig Conroy and Brad Pascall and have made Chris Snow their director of hockey analysis.

Derek MacKinnon has been named director of pro personnel, while Rob Sumner and Fred Parker have been named assistant directors of amateur scouting.
