Flames sign forward Justin Kirkland to one-year contract

The Calgary Flames have signed free agent forward Justin Kirkland to a one-year, two-way contract.

The contract pays $700,000 at the NHL level.

Kirkland, 22, appeared in 75 games with the AHL’s Milwaukee Admirals last season, scoring nine goals and 30 points.

Originally a third-round pick by the Nashville Predators in 2014, Kirkland played his junior career with the WHL’s Kelowna Rockets where he won a league title in 2015.
