Hart had helped spark a turnaround for the Flyers from near the bottom of the Eastern Conference in December to the edge of the playoff race.
The 20-year-old is 13-8-1 with a 2.79 goals-against average and .917 save percentage but has been pulled from his past two starts and replaced by Brian Elliott, who will be expected to fill in during his absence.
Philadelphia takes on the Pittsburgh Penguins Saturday night and currently sit 11th in the conference.
