Medvedev had spent his entire career in Russia before signing a one-year deal with the Philadelphia Flyers last off-season.

He had four goals and 12 points in 45 games for Philadelphia and was a healthy scratch during their first-round playoff loss to the Washington Capitals.

The 33-year-old is a three-time KHL all-star and has represented his native Russia at the world championships four times, winning gold twice. Medvedev was also on the Russian Olympic team in 2014.
