New Vegas Golden Knights head coach Peter DeBoer has recruited one of his former assistants to the desert.

Steve Spott, who was an assistant coach under DeBoer for four seasons with the San Jose Sharks, has been hired as an assistant coach by the Golden Knights.

Before working for the Sharks, Spott was an assistant coach with the Toronto Maple Leafs, and has also served as a head coach in the AHL and OHL.

DeBoer and Spott were fired by the Sharks in December. The Golden Knights then hired DeBoer on Jan. 15.
