Golden Knights trade Alexei Emelin to Predators

Daren Millard and Todd Hlushko discuss the Marc Methot to Dallas deal, which signifies two things, Dallas is going for it, and the price tag in Vegas has gone down since the Expansion Draft.

The Vegas Golden Knights have traded defenceman Alexei Emelin to the Nashville Predators, the teams announced Saturday.

Vegas receives a third-round pick in exchange.

The 31-year-old had spent his entire career with the Montreal Canadiens before being selected by Vegas via expansion last month. He scored twice and tallied eight assists in 76 games in 2016-17 and has 14 goals and 72 points in 380 career NHL games.

Emelin has one year remaining on his four-year, $16.4 million contract and comes with a $4.1-million cap hit.
