Over the weekend, during an Atom AAA playoff game at Elgin Barrow Arena in the Greater Toronto Area, 10-year-old netminder Carson Palmer of the Richmond Hill Coyotes made one of the best saves you’ll ever see.
What makes the save even more impressive is the fact it occurred in the dying seconds of the third period to preserve a 4-3 lead over the Whitby Wildcats – a lead the team earned after clawing its way back from a 3-0 deficit.
The video was shot by hockey dad Doug Bannister, whose child is on Palmer’s team. Check it out:
It’s the type of save every goalie dreams of making and one that Carson’s parents can boast about for years to come.
“Honestly, I was super proud. It was an unbelievable save,” Carson’s father Brad told Sportsnet over the phone while adding he couldn’t believe what he saw.
The Coyotes held on for the victory. The winner of the Coyotes-Wildcats series will move onto the OMHA finals.
