Henrik Lundqvist became the 12th goaltender in NHL history to reach 400 wins Saturday with a 4-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.
The New York Rangers goalie made 31 saves in the victory.
Lundqvist, 34, is 12th in wins all-time, now one behind Chris Osgood. Martin Brodeur leads all netminders with 691 while Patrick Roy and Ed Belfour sit second and third respectively. Lundqvist could move up to ninth all-time before the end of 2016-17, passing Osgood, Grant Fuhr and Glenn Hall in the process.
Brodeur, Hall, Fuhr, and Roy were among the NHL’s top 100 players of all-time, announced at the 2017 All-Star weekend.
The Swede became the winningest European goalie on Dec. 31 2016 when he passed Dominik Hasek with his 390th career victory.
Lundqvist, in his 12th NHL season, has won at least 30 games in each campaign — the exception coming in 2013 when he won 24 of 43 starts in the lockout-shortened season. He has 26 wins in 42 games this season.
Of all other active goalies, Pittsburgh’s Marc-Andre Fleury is closest to 400 with 371.
