Pesce has an expected recovery time of four to six months.

The 25-year-old injured his shoulder during the second period of Carolina’s 6-3 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Feb. 22.

Pesce recorded four goals and 18 points in 61 games this season, and averages almost 22 minutes of ice time. In 350 career contests with the Hurricanes, he has registered 20 goals and 102 points.

The Tarrytown, N.Y., native was selected by Carolina in the third round of the 2013 NHL Draft, 66th overall.
