Hurricanes’ Justin Faulk comes off IR, will play vs. Sharks

Justin Faulk unloaded a huge slapshot in the dying seconds of overtime while on the power play to lead the Carolina Hurricanes over the Washington Capitals 2-1 in preseason action.

The Carolina Hurricanes have activated Justin Faulk from the IR, according to Chip Alexander of Raleigh News & Observer.

Faulk was injured on Nov. 6, in a game against the New Jersey Devils. He missed three games with an upper body injury while the team went 1-2-0 in his absence.

In 11 games this season, he has three goals, three assists and is minus-five. His six points rank him second among Carolina defencemen behind Noah Hanifin.

Reports suggest that he will play on Tuesday night as the Hurricanes (4-6-4) visit the San Jose Sharks (9-6-0).
