Hockey Twitter had a late night before Monday’s trade deadline, and Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston had a little something to do with that.
After 1 a.m. ET Monday morning, Johnston was insistent that hockey fans shouldn’t go to bed because something was “about to go down.”
Two minutes later, Johnston provided another update.
Who could possibly go to sleep after that!?
The hockey world was immediately drawn to their refresh buttons as they were waiting for Johnston to break the news.

Around 1:40 a.m., Johnston broke the news on two trades — both of which involved the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Maybe Lightning GM Steve Yzerman was in on the charade.
Once the deals were complete, Johnson gave the go-ahead to go to sleep. Finally…
