Jagr’s hometown HC Kladno uses vet’s name in jersey reveal

The HC Kladno of the WSN Liga unveiled their new threads for the upcoming season, and they did so using a high-profile, hometown name.

The team sent out a tweet of their new jerseys sporting the name and number of current NHL free agent Jaromir Jagr, who was born in Kladno, Czech Republic.

The 45-year-old played the three previous seasons with the Florida Panthers, but his NHL time may be ticking as he remains unsigned with 29 days until the start of the 2017-18 season. A move overseas could be in the cards for the NHL veteran, who has left North America before when he played in the KHL for the Avangard Omsk from 2008-2011.

When Jagr first took his talents over to Russia, he expressed interest in playing for HC Kladno — the same team his father played for — but in the end the move never transpired. Could now be the time? HC Kladno certainly hopes so.
