Jets assign defenceman Ville Heinola to AHL’s Moose

Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff explains the club's decision to send 18-year old Ville Heinola down to Manitoba, where he'll play a regular shift, more than they can offer with the big club.

The Winnipeg Jets have assigned defenceman Ville Heinola to the Manitoba Moose, the club’s AHL affiliate, the team announced Thursday.

Heinola, the club’s first-round pick last June (20th overall), had five points in eight games with the Jets this season.

The 18-year-old had 14 points in 34 games with Lukko Rauma of Finland’s SM-liiga in 2018-19.
