The Winnipeg Jets have claimed forward Nick Shore off waivers from the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The 27-year-old was placed on waivers by Toronto on Tuesday after scoring two goals and one assist in 21 games for the Maple Leafs this season.

Shore signed as a free agent with Toronto on July 24 after spending last year with Metallurg Magnitogorsk of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Before going to Russia, the centre played with the Los Angeles Kings, Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators.

He is a defensive-minded centre who primarily played on Toronto’s fourth line.
