Winnipeg Jets winger Gabriel Bourque will be out a minimum of four weeks due to a lower-body injury, head coach Paul Maurice announced Thursday.

Bourque suffered the injury in the Jets’ 2-1 shootout loss to the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. In 16 games for Winnipeg so far this season, the Rimouski, Que., native has a goal and two assists while averaging just over 10:00 of ice time per game.

The news of Bourque’s absence is the latest injury blow to Winnipeg’s forward group after Bryan Little was placed on injured reserve earlier Thursday because of a perforated ear drum suffered when he was hit in the head by a Nikolaj Ehlers shot in the loss to the Devils.
