WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets don’t think Mark Scheifele is quite ready for the NHL.

The Jets re-assigned the 18-year-old Scheifele to the Barrie Colts of the Ontario Hockey League on Sunday.

The seventh overall pick at June’s draft, Scheifele played in seven games with Winnipeg this season.

He scored his first NHL goal on Wednesday against at Toronto, but played just over seven minutes in Saturday’s 5-3 win over Carolina.

Scheifele led all OHL rookies in assists last season with 53. The Kitchener, Ont., native also added 22 goals for 75 points in 66 games.
