The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Ville Heinola to a three-year, entry-level contract, the team announced Monday.
The deal has an average annual value of $1,137,500.

Heinola was selected by the Jets in the first round (20th overall) in the 2019 NHL Draft.

Heinola, 18, was selected by Winnipeg 20th overall in the 2019 NHL Draft. He recorded two goals and 14 points in 34 games with Lukko in the Liiga last season, as well as one goal and nine points with Lukko’s U20 team.
The Finnish defenceman won gold with Finland at the world junior championship, posting one goal and two points in five games. He also represented his country at the 2019 U18 world championship, where he registered one goal and four points in five games.
