Jets sign Joe Morrow to one-year contract extension

Joe Morrow talked about the excitement of scoring the game-winning goal and hoping to start a good run for the Jets.

The Winnipeg Jets have signed defenceman Joe Morrow to a one-year contract extension worth $1 million.

Morrow was traded to the Jets from the Montreal Canadiens in February. The 25-year-old appeared in 18 games for Winnipeg in 2017-18, scoring one goal and adding four assists.

Morrow scored the game-winning goal for the Jets in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series against the Minnesota Wild.

The Edmonton native was drafted 23rd overall by the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2011.
