Jets’ travel to Minnesota delayed by an actual whiteout

The Jets had the best home record all season, but their opponent in Minnesota had the second-best. They aren’t underestimating the effect the Wild’s fans can have on the game heading into Game 3.

The Winnipeg Jets just ran into a Minnesota whiteout.

The Jets’ travel to Minneapolis was delayed on Saturday due to poor weather conditions—yes, an actual whiteout—as a storm rolls through much of the Northeastern U.S.

Earlier on Saturday, the team announced via Twitter that their flight into Minneapolis was being rerouted to Duluth, about 250 km away, due to the storm. They announced a few hours later that they were heading back home and will try the trip again Sunday morning.

The winter weather (uh, hey, isn’t it supposed to be spring?) has resulted in plenty of travel delays, as well as the postponing of Saturday’s contest between the Toronto Blue Jays and Cleveland.

Game 3 between the Jets and Wild is scheduled for Sunday at 7 p.m. ET. Winnipeg leads the series 2-0.
