Johnny Gaudreau’s dad joins Pacific Division coaches at all-star game

Guy Gaudreau is behind the bench for the Pacific All-Stars and he spoke with Scott Oake about Johnny’s path to the NHL.

Johnny Gaudreau will have more than one familiar face calling the shots for his Pacific Division team during the NHL All-Star Game.

His father, Guy Gaudreau, will join Flames head coach Bill Peters on the coaching staff for the Pacific Division in San Jose Saturday.

The senior Gaudreau had a decorated career in both hockey and soccer for Norwich University in the 1970s and was elected into the Vermont Sports Hall of Fame in 2017. He finished his four-year hockey career at Norwich with 88 goals and 144 points, so now we know where his son learned how to score.

Johnny will be playing in his fifth all-star game Saturday and is a Hart Trophy favourite so far this season. He has 29 goals and 73 points in 51 games to lead the Pacific Division-leading Flames in scoring.
