While he might not be welcomed back into the Chicago Blackhawks dressing room anytime soon, Canadian pop star Justin Bieber gets plenty of love from the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Well, the Dallas Stars — a team that ranks right up there with the L.A. Kings when it comes to displaying an devilish sense of humour on social media — used the Leafs’ Bieber connection to playfully rub some insult into the injury of a 7-1 shellacking Thursday night in Dallas.
The Stars game operations crew threw up Bieber’s recent mug shot on the Jumbotron in the second period and drilled the joke home on both Twitter and Instagram:
It’s true. There are indeed Leafs fans in the house. See jumbotronRT @damnitjason: Thank you @DallasStars Thank you. pic.twitter.com/KJIjTg6Tcz

The Bieber blast was followed up by a clip of Toronto mayor Rob Ford:

Remember gentler times, when opposing mascots would pull pranks on each other in little video sketches?
