Tampa Bay Lightning captain Steven Stamkos left Tuesday’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs for an undisclosed reason.

Stamkos didn’t return with his teammates from the locker room to start the third period. He spent 12:30 on the ice over 16 shifts in the first two periods and had one assist before leaving.

The Maple Leafs also announced defenceman Jake Muzzin wouldn’t finish the game with a hand injury.

Stamkos has 29 goals and 66 points in 57 games this season. The Maple Leafs won the game 4-3.
