TORONTO — The Toronto Maple Leafs announced on Sunday that the club has acquired forward Taylor Beck from the Nashville Predators in exchange for forward Jamie Devane.

Beck produced eight goals and 16 points in 62 games with Nashville last season — his first full year in the NHL after spending time with the American Hockey League’s Milwaukee Admirals.

The 24-year-old native of St. Catharines, Ont. was selected by the Predators 70th overall in the 2009 NHL Draft after spending his four-year junior career with the Guelph Storm alongside current Leaf centre Peter Holland.

Devane has spent the majority of his professional career with the AHL’s Toronto Marlies, posting six goals, 15 points and 253 penalty minutes in 118 games.

The 24-year-old Mississauga, Ont. native also appeared in his first two NHL contests with Toronto during the 2013-14 season.

Devane, originally selected two spots ahead of Beck in the 2009 NHL Draft, missed the 2015 AHL playoffs after having season-ending surgery to repair a lower-body injury.
