The Toronto Maple Leafs have activated defenceman Cody Ceci off injured reserve and he will be in the lineup against the Anaheim Ducks on Friday night.

He will be paired with Calle Rosen, with Rasmus Sandin confirmed to be scratched versus the Ducks.

Ceci has been out with an ankle injury that he suffered against the New York Rangers on Feb. 5.

The 26-year-old has eight points in 54 games and a plus-eight rating with the Maple Leafs this season.

Also on Friday, the Maple Leafs loaned defenceman Timothy Liljegren to the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Liljegren has one assist in 11 NHL games this season, while averaging 10:18 minutes of ice time.

The 20-year-old can only return to the NHL this season if the Leafs call him up under emergency conditions or once the Marlies’ season is over, according to Sportsnet’s Chris Johnston.
