Maple Leafs’ Andreas Johnsson suffers leg injury vs. Avalanche

Jeff Marek, Brian Burke and Elliotte Friedman discuss the second period between the Colorado Avalanche and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Toronto Maple Leafs winger Andreas Johnsson left Wednesday’s game against the Colorado Avalanche with a leg injury and will not return.

Johnsson suffered the injury late in the second period after blocking a shot from the Avalanche’s Ryan Graves. Johnsson was slow to get up after blocking the shot and limped to the dressing room shortly after.

After the game, head coach Sheldon Keefe told reporters that the injury wasn’t serious but Johnsson was too sore to continue playing Wednesday.

Johnsson skated in exactly 12 minutes before leaving the game. He has six goals and 16 points in 30 games this season.
