Toronto Maple Leafs forward Brandon Kozun cleared waivers on Thursday, opening the door for the team to send him to its AHL affiliate Toronto Marlies.
Kozun, who has one assist in six games with the Maple Leafs this season, couldn’t find a regular spot in the club’s re-tooled group of bottom six forwards.
The 24-year old spent three games with the Marlies on a conditioning stint earlier this season, where he scored one goal.
Kozun was drafted 179th overall by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2009. His stint with the Maple Leafs this season was his first taste of NHL action.
